Ense is a benchmark for plasma cutting operations in the provinces of Milan, Bergamo, Treviso and Cremona, and intends to expand its services to the provinces of Trento and Bolzano.
Plasma cutting is characterized by the same quality and accuracy as laser cutting, also for what concerns edges, with considerably lower production costs. Another advantage is the rapidity and the wide application of this technology. Plasma cutting can be used with all types of electrically conductive material. The torch feeds an inert gas through a nozzle that forms a metal arc between an electrode and the surface to be cut. The metal arc transforms the gas into plasma that transfers heat to the metal material until it reaches the fusion temperature, breaking the metal continuity. Plasma cutting can be used for sheet metal with low or high thickness. Moreover, it can be used for the contoured cutting of pipes and other cylindrical materials, for the creation of grooves and of inclined cuts, as well as for chamfering or drilling processes.
In the last decades the high-definition plasma cutting technology has advanced rapidly, developing high-speed and high-accuracy cutting lines.
